This CVC Tic-Tac-Toe game is a great attribute to reading in the classroom as it's main goal is to help your students read and spell. If you want to have fun playing a friendly game of tic-tac-toe, this is a great activity in which students type out the CVC words and choose x's and o's of their choice.

What is it? In this phonemic awareness activity students will be engaged to identify the picture in Santa's sack and spell out the CVC word that matches with the picture. Its an interactive tic-tac-toe game in which teachers can get involved in helping students to read.

Who is it for? This is primarily for early readers who are just beginning to decode words. Students have acquired the essential skills of letter recognition in the sounds that each letter makes, then this activity is perfect for blending the sounds together to form words.

How to play it? Students will identify the picture indicated in the sack of Santa. Each time you click on the picture, another picture appears. There are 9 CVC pictures. Teachers will instruct student to spell out the CVC word that matches with the picture. After approval that word is spelled correctly from the teacher, students will then be directed to click on a present to choose an x or o. For instance, the x's and o's are revealed every time you click on a present. When a word is spelled out correctly (with approval from the teacher), students can proceed to choose a letter of their choice. The person that gets three x's or o's in a row, wins the game.

How to set it up?

It brightens my world to see students having fun while engaged in learning important reading concepts that will last a lifetime.
