Wondering mind brings curiosity and new discoveries.

The feeling when a teacher is approached by a student that expresses his/her positive thought about desiring to do the work again because it was so much fun and yet you know they actually learned from it. Well, that is what it means to have pride in your students. The feeling you know you’ve done something right. That feeling never leaves you. Its what enlightens you to keep coming up with more activities that will spark the interest of inquisitive children. That pride in you is the guiding light that leads you to igniting the fire in your classroom. Just the smile on the faces pushes you to persevere and to keep pushing. A teacher’s pride is the fuel all educators need to making things work in the classroom atmosphere.

Who created Teacher’s Pride?

Folashade Ben-Kalio is proud to be the founder and creator of Teacher’s Pride. After being in the classroom spotlight for some time, she took time off and establish the role of a stay-at-home mom of three wonderful blessings. It is then she ventured her interest in creating Supplemental Educational Resources for elementary teachers. From the start, the resources were designed to help promote her children’s learning skills. These resources played a valuable role in their lives as they enjoyed every aspect of it. The resources created were used to promote fundamental reading and math concepts. One of the most valuable aspect of the resources is the approach of having fun while learning. Folashade believes that children thrive for learning when the activities are engaging and interactive. She had a blast creating these resources for your students and look forward to empowering your classroom as these resources are integrated into your curriculum. She hope the resources suit you well because they’ve made a lasting impact on the lives of her children.

Teaching Experience

Folashade’s educational experience dates back 20 years ago. She dived into several aspects of teaching young children such as camp counselor, Sunday school teacher, teacher's aide in numerous childcare facilities, assisted in a school for autistic children, student teacher for ESL kids from K-5th grade, and mentored Elementary students with disabilities.

Teaching Style

As an educator she thrive on changing student's life through the use of delegation, facilitation, and demonstrative Styles into her method of teaching. It makes her proud to see students engaged in learning by cooperation and collaboration. The activities she formulated help to enhance problem solving skills, self-discovery, and seek an appreciation of understanding with peers. Folashade find it essential to provide plenty of visual representation, audio support, and concrete tools as students acquire important skills.

Child Care Careers honored her with a Certificate of Appreciation for Teacher of the Month in 2013.

Educational History

At Houston Community College, she earned an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. After spending a couple of years at the University of Houston, she received a Bachelors in Special Education at the University of Houston.
